Edo2024: Afemai Descendants calls for zero party interest

By Kadiri Christopher

A socio-cultural and apolitical group under the aegis of the Afemai Descendants Forum, ADF, has passionately appealed to every Nigerian citizen who hails from the Edo North to look beyond political parties in the forthcoming Edo State gubernatorial election.

In a press statement issued to LEGENDS TV and signed by the convener of the group, Comrade John Aidenomo Idogho, the Afemai indigenes were admonished to elect persons with the interest of the Afemai land at heart, irrespective of the political party affiliation.

According to Comrade Idogho, "The great AFEMAI DESCENDANTS FORUM (ADF) is using this means to remind every Afemai indigene, both at home and in the diaspora, to be conscious of the needed development in the entire six local government areas of the Edo North.

"Such development can never occur by accident. It will be a product of the type of leaders we elect into positions, viz-a-viz the forthcoming Edo State Governorship election.

"With this in mind, the ADF which is a nonprofit and apolitical congregation, is reminding us that we should look beyond political parties and x-ray the candidates, their antecedents and how their antecedents resemble their manifestos.

"This is the time for the average Afemai indigene to wake up, rise up and wise up in their choice voting a person who we can access without a strenuous innuendo.

"Despite every candidate being affiliated to a political party, the personality of the candidate should speak volumes more than the political party oars", he said.

The group uses the means to pray for Afemai land, Edo State and nigeria and calls for a peace Edo Governorship election on September 21st, 2024.
