The National Association of Seadogs (NAS) also known as Pyrates Confraternity from the Benbow Deck, has taken her skilled gesture to subjects of the Benin Juvenile Correctional Centre.
The subjects in the facility were impacted with two major skills which can make them independent after being released from the Correctional facility.
The skills thought were soap making and paint production as manuals were equally distributed to guide them in their path when the need arises.
In an opening remark, the President of the Benbow Deck, Mr Omotayo Fasade told the subjects that the association thought it wise to extend their gesture of empowerment to the Centre which will make them relevant in the society after their release.
According to Mr Fasade, "This is a process which we have begun and we will continue to visit you with different of our programs which you all will benefit from. Such programs will make you a better person to yourself, your family and the entire human race".
The Project Coordinator, Dr Iyayi Iguehide also informed the subjects that they are part of the society and as such, should not be neglected.
Two resource persons, Messrs Ochuko Ekewe and Godwin Ogieva were on ground to train the subjects in practical approaches for making liquid soap and emulsion paints.
After practically displaying the art of production, the subjects were engaged in making the same products under the watch of the resource persons.
The highlight of the event was question and answer time.
The Benbow Deck extended the advocacy to refresh the subjects with sumptuous meal as the subjects in turn were filled with gratitude.
