Go develop your village, be peaceful, Benin Monarch tells Oke-Oroma Community leaders

The monarch of the great Benin kingdom, Ōba Ewuare ll, Uku Akpolokpolor, has urged the leaders and other good people of Oke-Oroma community in Ikpoba-Okha local government area of Edo State to be United, peaceful and work towards developing the Oke-Oroma community.


Responding to the core indigenous people of the Oke-Oroma community during a courtesy visit paid on the royal palace, the Benin monarch admonished the visitors to be responsive to growing the community, to be peaceful and to pursue every virtue that will lead to achieving a more egalitarian society.


The leaders of the Oke-Oroma community had earlier, in a letter,  eulogized  the great King that his reign has been characterized by gross peace.


According to the letter signed by Gaius Emokpae, the Ozukpogieva of Oke-Oroma community, Abel Emokpae, the Ozukpogieha, Monday Omorogiuwa, the Community Secretary and Owie Festus Daniel, the community Public Relations Officer, "Your reign has been marked by peace, stability and remarkable progress across our great kingdom, Edo State and the world at large.


"Under your visionary leadership, we have witnessed significant institutional reforms and a renewed global recognition of the rich heritage of the Benin kingdom. Notably the historic return of our looted artefacts during your reign stands as a monumental achievement that will be forever cherished in our history".


The community leaders gave thanks to God over what they described as "monumental strides" of Ōba Ewuare.


"In felicitation with our quintessential monarch, it is also necessary to give praise to high heavens, the monumental strides of our amiable royal father ever since the ascension to the throne of your forebears".


The visit to the Benin Royal King was in line with the annual Ugie festival of the Benin Kingdom.


The leaders used the opportunity to pray to God and the ancestors to grant the monarch more and lengthy years on the throne with good health filled with wisdom.
