The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has recently listed 44 public primary schools for renovation across the State.
The proposed renovation is said to be a part of the State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, project.
The schools listed for renovation are Afeye Primary school in Ikiran-Ele, Ososo Primary school in Ososo, Ikakumoh Primary school in Ikakumoh, Ugbogbo Primary School in Igarra, Eguare Primary School in Uromi, Afuda Primary School in Afuda-Idigun, Okhore Primary School in Opoji, Ibore-Unea Primary School in Ibore, Ugiagbe Primary School in Egor, Amegor Primary School in Egor and Osunde Primary School in Egor.
Others are Iyodaro Primary School in Aiyetoro, Hair Primary School in Bekuma, Ojirami Primary School in Ojirami, Usu Primary School in Akoko-Edo, Usomo Primary School in Somorika, Enwan Primary School in Enwan, Olua Primary School in Uselu, Eweka Primary School in Useh, Oba Ewuare Primary School in Okhoro, Okhoro Primary School in Egor, Oronmiyan Primary School in Evbuotubu, Ugbioghoko Primary School in Upper Ekenwan Road, Community Primary School in Uselu, Eson Primary School in Egor, Aghahuwa Primary School in Uselu, Edaiken Primary School in in Uselu, Ugbowo Primary School in Egor, Edigin Primary School in Useh, Egor Primary School in Egor village, Ogiegor Primary School in Egor, Olor Primary School in Inofe, Iyesigie Primary School in Uselu, Eyanugie Primary School in Benin City, Iheya Primary School in Benin City, Ugiagbe Primary School in Evbuotubu, Uruwan Primary School in Uruwan, Eguare Primary School in Irrua, Akho Primary School in Irrua, Eko-Ojemen Primary School in Ewu, Ujabhole Primary School in Ujabhole, Uwenujie Primary School in Irrua, Ebudin Primary School in Ebudin, Idunwele Primary School in Ewu, Ugbokhare Primary School in Ugbokhare.
It was observed that the recently demolished Osaretin Primary School in Uzalla Community was not in the list.
Every effort to get comments from the Edo State Commissioner of Education, Dr Joan Oviawe on why some schools were omitted proved abortive.
