By Kadiri Christopher

The family of late Engr Augustine Izekor have recently met with the management of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company, BEDC, and the National Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC.

The meeting which was held in Abuja was attended by three members of the late Augustine's family, precisely his widow, Jennifer his next of kin and Monday Osayande his brother.

The family members who were fully sponsored on the trip, were informed of some compensations which the family will enjoy as a result of the loss suffered by the family and the BEDC.

The NERC announced to the family that the burial of Augustine Izekor will be the responsibility of the BEDC while the family takes over the funeral rights.

They were informed that his widow, who is an O'level grade, will be empowered with some financial empowerment.

Scholarship has been said to be offered to the two daughters who are currently in two different universities in Nigeria while the last child who is in her secondary school level will enjoy the same scholarship scheme up to university level.

Upon graduation from the university and a compulsory national service, his oldest daughter, Jennifer Izekor, will be offered automatic employment to the BEDC.

A cash donation was said to be offered to the immediate and extended families to ease their greaves.

It will be recalled that Engr Izekor was electrocuted on 26th day of October, 2023 at Evbodia, a suburb in Benin City and later died at the hospital where he was taken to for treatment.
