Edo Council Boss Engages In Public School Repairs

The Executive Chairman of Ikpoba-Okha Local Government, Dr. Eric Osayande, has intensified work on Iwogban Primary School, noting that the Iwogban community will soon take over the facility to school their children and wards.


Iwogban Primary School, an ongoing project, is a 6-classroom block with headmaster/headmistress' office, toilet, staff room and other essentials, situate on Lucky Way in Ward 1 of Ikpoba-Okha local government area, Benin City, the Edo State capital.


The primary school constitutes one of the numerous schools built by the Osayande-led administration during the Chairman's first term 2018-2021; however, the School (Iwogban) did not meet completion as at the time Osayande completed his first term, March 5, 2021.


On project tour of the facility, others, Thursday, the Chairman's Press Secretary, Eseosa Ewere and the Supervisory Councilor for Works, Hon. Joshua Ehi Tom, observed the presence of workers on site, in a bid to meet Chairman's desire to complete the project in record time.


Meanwhile, the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Chairman, Dr. Eric Osayande, has said he is in a hurry to complete the school facility and hand it over to the community for full use.


Iwogban Primary School came to be, following strong demand by the community who harped on the need to have their own school; Supervisory Engineer, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government, Engr. Ahamisi Ohi, attached to the project, said with the speed of work, the project may be delivered by December or latest January 2024.
