2024 World Hearing Day: WILBON OFFERS 54 PERSONS FREE TREATMENTS

No fewer than 54 persons have recently benefitted from the free ear treatment offered by the WILBON ENT/HEAD AND NECK CLINIC in Benin City.


The free treatment which was part of the 2024 WORLD HEARING DAY saw several clinical activities carried out which were anchored by Resident Doctors of the WILBON ENT, University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) and Delta State University Teaching Hospital, Oghara-Delta State.


Lectures on health education, especially on Ear Care and Prevention of Hearing Loss were delivered by reputable experts. The versatile lecturers were Dr Eustace  Oseghale of the WILBON ENT and Dr Atuyota Uchefe, a consultant ENT surgeon.


A total of 54 patients with various hearing challenge benefitted from the One Day event which had tests and treatment of ear conditions which ranged from infections, wax impaction and the foreign body removals.


Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs Favour Chidi thanked the WILBON ENT management. She commended the level of care and intervention, especially as everything was "given free of charge".


The Medical Director of WILBON ENT Clinic, Dr Patrick Okundia, a former Commissioner of Health in Edo State, expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the 2024 edition which he acknowledged that "the hospital marks annually as a means of thanking God for His abundant grace and also to give back to the society".


WORLD HEARING DAY which is an annual event of the United Nations, UN, is marked every 23rd day of March.
