Eight man gang bandits have been alleged to have attacked three hunters recently at Iyakpi axis of Etsako West.
Narrating the incident to LEGENDS TV in Auchi, a hunter who pleaded anonymity said the hunters went hunting, riding on their motorcycles on the 11th day of May, at the Iyerekhu/Odame bush under Fugar.
According to him, the hunters went hunting for animals about 4pm and inside the bush, the hunters saw a guinea fowl and killed it.
"About 5:30pm, they saw a guinea fowl and one of them killed it. Suddenly, about eight armed men speaking Fulani language emerged from the bush and started shooting at the hunters. In the process, one Amedu Momodu sustained injuries on his right thigh.
"The injured hunter is receiving treatment at a hospital in Ibienafe right now.
"The bandits set ablaze the three bikes of the hunters right there inside the bush.
"The other two hunters, Momoh Sado and Maliki, escaped unhurt, taking the injured colleague out of the bush", he said.
