Six policemen to face dismissal for extorting Seadogs N2m in Edo

A team of six police officers and men have been recently involved in extorting two members of the National Association of Seadogs (NAS) also known as Pyrates Confraternity in Edo State.


The two Seadogs (names withheld) who were on their way from the 49th National Converge of the association which took place in Imo State, were stopped by the policemen and compelled the Seadogs to make a whooping transfer of two million naira to a certain Point of Sale (POS) account.


The ultimate security agents went further to seize the regalias of the Seadogs and were detained unlawfully.


Upon the intervention of the association, the officers and men were found wanting of extortion, unlawful detention of innocent citizens and illegal seizure of paraphernalia.


Confirming the incident from the Police Public Relations Officer, Edo State Command, CSP Moses Joel Yamu, he said he has not been briefed about the incident and its development.


At the time of filing this report, Legends News gathered that further talks is ongoing between the association and the Nigeria Police at the central level to strengthen the relationship that exist between the duo.
